³⁹ And those who passed by reviled him, shaking their heads ⁴⁰ and saying, “The one who would destroy the temple and rebuild it^[a] in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!” ⁴¹ In the same way also the chief priests, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking him,^[b] saying,
